Christmas Eve phone call!

At 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve the family was able to call Scooter in South Africa.  Everyone was impressed on how good the connection was and how great Elder Shipp sounded!  He is doing fantastic!  He is enjoying his companion despite their differences and is slowly becoming more comfortable teaching the people in South Africa.  The members are feeding him very well....he had four Christmas dinners!  However the food is not the same as he is use to here...no turkey, stuffing, etc.  He says he cannot wait to have a "traditional" holiday dinner when he gets home!  He is not loving all the curry food their yet.

Below are some pictures he sent this past week.  The first one is of some girls in the village who wanted him to take a picture of them.  The girls labeled it "Attitude"!

This next picture is rotated on my computer, but "blogger" wants to post it sideways...bummer.  However it is Scooters pet, Jeffrey, munching chocolate on their tree:

Lastly I could not help posting this picture:

The first question Aunt Danielle asked him when she spoke with him on Christmas Eve was whether or not they have Mountain Dew (Scooters weakness).  He replied with a big "YES".  So we just had to take a picture of this shirt that we found at the BYU Bookstore!
